Our Path
Past
Prior to forming Grand Avenue Software, our team was busy defining, creating, delivering, and supporting Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) solutions. We enjoyed success with many global leaders in the automotive, aerospace, hi-tech, defense, and consumer packaged goods markets. Additionally, some of our customers were leading international medical product or med device companies. While working hand-in-hand with these companies to deploy our PLM system into the quality systems discipline, we hatched the idea for Grand Avenue Software.
The founding premise behind Grand Avenue was to define and deliver an integrated suite of quality compliance and assurance modules specifically for small to medium-sized (SMB) medical device companies. This was unusual in its day because the concept was very focused on SMB organizations. People told us our approach wouldn’t work and couldn’t be sustained. Despite the initial criticisms, Grand Avenue was officially launched on February 17, 2002. Our customers enthusiastically affirmed our original vision and guiding principles. And the enthusiasm continues to this day.
Our guiding principles were to build a solution with the following characteristics:
- Automates ISO 13485 and the Quality System Regulation (QSR) records and workflows
- Uses electronic signatures and record keeping (21 CFR Part 11)
- Can be deployed quickly
- Can be validated rapidly and efficiently
- Is coupled with excellent technical and product support
- Is priced appropriately for small to medium-sized businesses
